Two key issues of alcohol free printing

Alcohol free printing is adopted, which is more green and safe because there is no alcohol. And alcohol free fountain solution itself consumes less. Reviewing some failed cases, we believe that the two keys to alcohol free printing are to solve the problems of surface tension and the viscosity of fountain solution. Here are some of our experiences and experiences on these two points

1. Surface tension: alcohol is added to conventional fountain solution to reduce surface tension. After there is no alcohol, the surface tension should be carefully adjusted to be between 30 and 35, which is the same as the performance characteristics when printing with isopropyl alcohol

2. Viscosity makes the inherent reliability of electronic products further improved during the description and development: during alcohol free operation, the viscosity of fountain solution decreases and becomes thinner. If the printing machine is not adjusted, the fountain system cannot fully provide the fountain solution to a "small target" printing plate, and the delicate balance of ink and water is broken. However, if we can carefully and patiently adjust the pressure between the rubber rollers, we can help the fountain system to let more fountain solution pass through. With the removal of alcohol, the rubber of the fountain rubber roller will gradually soften until it returns to the original design hardness, and the water level measurement will slowly reduce to the best state
